Two-Factor Authentication
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security by requiring a time-based code from an authenticator app in addition to your password.
Enabling 2FA
- Go to Settings > My Account
- Click "Enable 2FA"
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app:
- Authy (iOS / Android / Desktop)
- 1Password (built-in TOTP support)
- Bitwarden (built-in TOTP support)
- Any TOTP-compatible app
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app to verify the setup works
- Save your backup codes somewhere safe. You will need these if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Signing In with 2FA
After entering your username and password, you will see a second screen asking for your authentication code. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
Backup Codes
When you enable 2FA, you receive 8 one-time backup codes. Each code can be used exactly once to sign in if you lose access to your authenticator app. After using a backup code, it is consumed and cannot be reused. Store your backup codes in a secure location separate from your authenticator device.
Disabling 2FA
Go to Settings > My Account and click "Disable 2FA". You will need to enter your current password to confirm. This removes the TOTP requirement from your account.
