Ahrefs & Moz
Both Ahrefs and Moz are optional data sources that enrich your dashboard with backlink profiles, domain authority metrics, and organic keyword data.
Domain Rating (free, no account needed)
Your site's Domain Rating (DR) shows on the Overview automatically. no Ahrefs account or API key required. It comes from Ahrefs' free public DR endpoint, so everyone gets the headline authority metric out of the box. You can also ask the agent for any domain's DR (including a competitor's). For backlinks, referring domains, and organic keywords, connect a paid Ahrefs key below.
Ahrefs (full data)
Enter your Ahrefs API key in Settings > SEO Data. SEO Dash uses the Ahrefs API v3 for:
- Domain Rating and Ahrefs Rank
- Backlink Count and Referring Domains
- Organic Keywords and Traffic Estimates
- Top Backlinks with anchor text, source URL, and domain rating
Ahrefs charges per API unit. To avoid burning units on every page load, SEO Dash only fetches fresh data from Ahrefs when you explicitly click the refresh button. Otherwise it serves cached data. When you connect a paid key, it supplies DR plus everything above (the free DR card steps aside).
Moz
Enter your Moz API key in Settings > SEO Data. SEO Dash uses the Moz Links API for:
- Domain Authority and Page Authority
- Spam Score
- Root Domains linking to your site
- External Pages linking to your site
- Top Backlinks with anchor text and authority metrics
Combined Views
The Backlinks page and Keywords page in the dashboard combine data from all configured providers into unified tables. If you have both Ahrefs and Moz configured, you will see backlinks from both sources. This gives you a more complete picture than any single tool alone.
Rate Limits
Both Ahrefs and Moz have API rate limits and quotas that vary by plan. If you see 403 errors in the dashboard, it means you have reached your quota for the current period. The data will still be available from cache.
