Content Gaps
The Content Gaps page shows queries where Google is showing your site in search results (high impressions) but users are not clicking through (low CTR). This reveals a disconnect between what searchers expect and what your page offers.
Why This Matters
A high-impression, low-CTR keyword means Google thinks your page is relevant, but searchers disagree. Common causes include:
- Mismatched intent - Your page targets informational queries but the searcher wants a tool or product
- Weak title/description - Your SERP snippet does not stand out or match the query
- Wrong page ranking - Google is ranking a suboptimal page for this query
- Competition - Other results have richer snippets, better brands, or more compelling titles
How to Fix Content Gaps
For each gap, consider:
- Check what page is ranking and whether it matches the query intent
- Rewrite the title tag and meta description to be more specific and compelling
- Update the page content to better address what searchers are looking for
- Add structured data for rich snippets (FAQ schema, how-to schema, etc.)
- If the wrong page ranks, create a dedicated page for that topic and redirect
