Sitemap Checker
The Sitemap Checker fetches and analyzes XML sitemaps, reporting on structure, URL count, and potential problems.
How to Use
- Go to /utilities/sitemap-checker
- Enter a sitemap URL (or a domain to auto-detect the sitemap) and click Check
- The tool fetches and parses the sitemap
What the Results Show
- URL count - Total number of URLs in the sitemap
- File size - The size of the sitemap file
- Fetch time - How long it took to download and parse
- Sitemap index support - If the URL points to a sitemap index, all child sitemaps are listed
- Lastmod statistics - How many URLs have lastmod dates and the date range
- Duplicate URLs - Any URLs that appear more than once
- Issues - Missing URLs, malformed entries, URLs returning non-200 status codes, or exceeding the 50,000 URL limit
The tool supports both standard XML sitemaps and sitemap index files.
